The Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) has updated the IBC guidance document, IBC Requirements for Human Gene Transfer (HGT) Studies. Changes to the document largely reflect updates summarized in the April 2019 Amendment of the NIH Guidelines in the oversight of HGT studies. IBC UPDATE: Automatic closure of lapsed Biological Use Authorization (BUA) by the IBC
On February 17, 2022, the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) will be updating its process for handling lapsed BUAs. If your BUA has been in a lapsed state with no action in SafetyNet, the system will now automatically close your BUA after 60 days.
