To the Campus Community:
UCLA is committed to providing a robust learning environment for our students, including laboratory work consistent with their experience. Effective immediately, we have implemented an interim Undergraduate Researcher Laboratory Safety Policy (Policy 906), which outlines the necessary safety requirements and prohibitions on research and other activities that involve undergraduate student researchers and highly hazardous materials. The safety requirements outlined in this interim policy pertain to all research and teaching laboratory environments.
The interim policy has been adopted due to immediate health and safety concerns and is intended to provide direction to the UCLA community until the final policy is approved through the customary formal review process, in accordance with UCLA Policy 100. Please take a few minutes to review the interim policy on the UCLA Administrative Policies and Procedures website and send any comments to osoc@research.ucla.edu.
Thank you for taking the time to review and comment on the interim policy.
