The ARC recently revised the policy on Post-operative Analgesia. Major changes to the Policy include requirements to:
- Provide postoperative analgesia systemically for at least 48 hours following completion of survival surgery.
- Use multimodal analgesia for surgeries that have the potential for significant pain or distress.
- Document administration of surgical analgesics at the room level via a log or cage-side using pink Study Related Care/Information cards.
