We have scheduled more RATS 2.0 Zoom training sessions for the month of November. If you have not already attended training, we invite you to register for a basic and/or advanced training session to learn how to use RATS 2.0. Basic training provides an introduction to RATS 2.0, covering navigation and terminology. Advanced training will provide tips for completing the protocol smartform; attendees will have the opportunity to work on their protocols and ask questions in real time. Please contact RATSHelp@research.ucla.edu to register for an upcoming session:

Date Time
Thursday, November 12 (basic) 3:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Friday, November 13 (advanced) 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Monday, November 16 (basic) 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.
Friday, November 20 (advanced) 3:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Monday, November 23 (basic) 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.
Wednesday, November 25 (advanced) 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.

We look forward to seeing you at an upcoming training; meanwhile, here’s a QUICK TIP for formatting your experiments:

For each experiment you add to your protocol, you will be asked to provide details about the experiment (question 4 of the experiment pop-up). You should provide the Committee with a clear description of what any given animal will experience from initiation of the study to euthanasia. We suggest you use bullet points, timelines, tables or a flow chart to clearly outline what happens to an animal as part of the experiment. Question 4 of the experiment pop-up has an embedded toolbox you can use to help format your description. After completing question 4 of the pop-up, please remember to create and add all referenced procedures to question 5 as shown in the screenshots below. If you need assistance with creating your experiments, please contact RATSHelp@research.ucla.edu.
